Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Treatment
in Silverdale

Non-Surgical Contouring for Stubborn Localised Fat

Have areas of stubborn fat that don't seem to shift despite a healthy lifestyle?

Aqualyx™ is an injectable fat-reduction treatment designed to target small, localised pockets of fat on the face and body. It can be used to refine areas such as a double chin, abdomen, love handles, upper arms, inner thighs and bra or back fat without surgery.

Rather than being a weight-loss treatment, Aqualyx is designed for body and facial contouring—making it particularly suited to people who are generally happy with their weight but have specific areas they would like to refine.

Treatment is individually planned following consultation and assessment.

What Is Aqualyx?

Aqualyx™ is an injectable treatment from the deoxycholate family of acids designed to reduce localised deposits of subcutaneous fat.

Once injected into the targeted fatty tissue, Aqualyx disrupts the membranes of fat cells. The contents of these cells are then gradually processed and eliminated naturally by the body.

The process happens progressively, so changes develop over the weeks following treatment rather than immediately.

Aqualyx™ is a Class III medical device registered with Medsafe in New Zealand.

Aqualyx Face

Targeted Contouring for the Double Chin & Lower Face

aqualyx #3.png

Aqualyx Face is designed for smaller, more precise treatment areas where localised fat can affect facial definition.

It may be suitable for treating:

✔ Double chin / submental fat
✔ Small localised pockets of fat beneath the jawline
✔ Selected lower-face contouring concerns where clinically appropriate
✔ Patients wanting non-surgical fat reduction without adding volume

Aqualyx does not tighten loose skin or replace treatments designed specifically for skin laxity. During your consultation, we'll assess whether the concern is predominantly caused by localised fat, skin laxity, facial structure—or a combination of these factors—before recommending treatment.

Aqualyx Body

Target Stubborn Areas That Don't Respond to Diet & Exercise

ChatGPT Image Sep 26, 2026, 07_37_42 AM.png

Aqualyx Body can be used to contour selected areas containing localised subcutaneous fat.

Common treatment areas include:

✔ Abdomen
✔ Flanks / love handles
✔ Upper arms
✔ Inner thighs
✔ Bra fat
✔ Back rolls
✔ Around the knees
✔ Other suitable localised areas following assessment

Aqualyx is intended for localised fat reduction rather than general weight loss. The best candidates typically have specific pockets of pinchable fat they would like to reduce and realistic expectations about what non-surgical contouring can achieve.

How It Works Aqualyx Work?

Your Aqualyx journey begins with a consultation and assessment.

During treatment:

  1. Your areas of concern are assessed and the treatment zone is mapped.

  2. Clinical photographs may be taken to help monitor progress.

  3. Aqualyx is injected directly into the targeted subcutaneous fatty tissue using a series of carefully placed injections.

  4. The treatment disrupts the membranes of targeted fat cells.

  5. The contents of these cells are gradually processed by the body.

  6. Contour changes develop progressively over the following weeks.

  7. Additional sessions can then be performed where clinically appropriate.

How to Prepare

Before your treatment:

• Avoid alcohol for approximately 24 hours beforehand
• Stay well hydrated
• Eat normally before your appointment
• Tell us about any medications, supplements, medical conditions or allergies
• Let us know if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive
• Tell us if you have any infection, inflammation or broken skin around the treatment area
• Avoid scheduling treatment immediately before an important event or occasion due to the possibility of swelling

Your medical history and suitability will be assessed before treatment.

Appointment Experience

Your appointment includes a consultation, assessment and personalised treatment plan.

The amount of Aqualyx required depends on the treatment area, the amount and distribution of localised fat and your individual anatomy.

Before proceeding, we'll discuss:

• What you would like to improve
• Whether Aqualyx is suitable for the concern
• The treatment area
• Estimated number of vials required
• Expected treatment course
• Potential side effects and downtime
• Expected cost

Clinical photographs may be taken to help assess your progress throughout your treatment course.

Discomfort Levels

Mild to Moderate

Aqualyx contains a local anaesthetic component to help make treatment more comfortable.

You may still experience some stinging, tenderness, warmth or discomfort during and after treatment.

Sensitivity varies depending on the area treated and between individuals.

Downtime & Aftercare

Swelling is an expected part of the treatment response and can be more noticeable in some areas than others.

Following treatment you may experience:

✔ Swelling
✔ Redness
✔ Tenderness
✔ Bruising
✔ Warmth
✔ Temporary firmness or lumpiness
✔ Altered sensation or numbness in the treated area

These effects generally settle progressively.

We'll provide you with personalised aftercare instructions following treatment.

Treatment Plan & Results

Aqualyx works progressively rather than producing an immediate change.

Initial contouring may begin to become noticeable over the weeks following treatment, with the treated area continuing to change as the body processes the disrupted fat cells.

Recommended Course

Typically 2–6 sessions per area, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Some areas may require up to 8 sessions. Results vary between individuals.

The number of treatments you require will depend on:

  • Treatment area

  • Amount of localised fat

  • Individual response

  • Desired degree of contouring

Your progress can be reviewed throughout your course and your treatment plan adjusted accordingly.

How many Aqualyx treatments will I need?

Most treatment plans involve multiple sessions. A typical course is 2–6 treatments per area, spaced approximately 4–6 weeks apart, although some areas may require up to 8 sessions. Your individual treatment plan will depend on the area being treated and your response.

Can Aqualyx treat a double chin?

Yes. Aqualyx Face can be used for suitable localised fat beneath the chin. An assessment is important because fullness beneath the chin can also be influenced by skin laxity and facial anatomy.

Is Aqualyx a weight-loss treatment?

No. Aqualyx is designed for localised fat reduction and contouring rather than overall weight loss.

How quickly will I see Aqualyx results?

Changes develop gradually. Initial contouring can become apparent during the weeks following treatment and may continue to develop as the body processes the disrupted fat cells.

How much does Aqualyx cost?

At Rejuvenate Aesthetic Artistry, Aqualyx Face starts from $700 per vial and Aqualyx Body from $400 per vial. The number of vials required depends on the treatment area and will be discussed during your consultation.

Where can I get Aqualyx in Auckland?
